Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with EBRD President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the EBRD is one of the largest financial institutions investing in the economy of Kazakhstan. The Head of State highly appreciated the long-term work of the bank in our country.
“I witnessed the start of your activity in Kazakhstan and was familiar with all your predecessors. Your bank has implemented a number of successful projects in our country, and I think that we can be proud of it”, the President said.
In turn, Suma Chakrabarti noted that Kazakhstan is among the five largest partners of the EBRD and expressed hope for continued fruitful cooperation.
The President of Kazakhstan also received Chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Shell plc, Ben van Beurden.

The Head of State was informed about the projects being implemented by the transnational company in the energy and petrochemical industries.
“Shell is actively involved in large projects such as Kashagan, Karachaganak, and the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. I am pleased with your participation in the Council of Foreign Investors and I hope that this will positively influence our cooperation”, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
In turn, the head of the company expressed confidence in the further fruitful implementation of joint projects.
“We aim to continue mutually beneficial partnership with Kazakhstan and fulfill all our obligations. Soon we are planning to increase the production performance of joint projects in your country”, Ben van Beurden stated.
