Nursultan Nazarbayev met with CEO of ALSTOM
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for investment cooperation.
“7 years ago we started our successful cooperation. Today, your enterprises operate in Kazakhstan not only in the railway industry, but also in the engineering industry. The products produced by your company are in demand in the countries of the region”, the First President of Kazakhstan noted.
During the conversation, Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the importance of infrastructural development in the context of strengthening the country's transit and transport potential.
“Now infrastructural development is becoming an important direction in the region. In particular, in connection with the Chinese “Road and Belt” initiative. We have built a large number of railway transport routes”, the Leader of the Nation said.
In turn, Henri Poupart-Lafarge thanked the First President of Kazakhstan for the opportunity to meet, emphasizing the special role of Nursultan Nazarbayev in strengthening investment cooperation.
“A large amount of equipment was produced at the electric locomotive plant, which is also supplied to foreign markets. Export to Azerbaijan has started. Thanks to Kazakhstani specialists, we were able to produce high-quality products. And now in our plans to expand production. We are planning to increase the number of employees of the plant from 500 to 700 people, and also to increase the productivity of the enterprise to 100 electric locomotives per year”, the CEO of ALSTOM stated.
