Kazakhstan steps up education, partners with Singapore
With diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Singapore being established in 1993, both countries have strong cooperation in various areas. Recently, a tripartite memorandum was inked between “Kazakh Invest” company, the officials of the city of Shymkent (southern Kazakhstan) and Director General Ricky Tan of Pegasus Education Group Pte Ltd, resulting in construction of a Lifelong Learning Educational Center, encompassing a kindergarten, general education school, vocational collage and temporary accommodation in Kazakhstan’s three large cities – Astana, Almaty and Shymkent.
The Singaporean company’s educational facilities are accredited in the international organizations as the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board, the University of Cambridge, ACT education solutions. Italso conducts examination for receiving certificates ofprestigious programs such as iPSLE, IGCSE and GAC, allowing students to enter the top 100 universities of the world.
Pegasus Education Group Pte Ltd has reportedly developed a lifelong learning educational network since 1986 in Singapore, focuses on active development of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) learning system.
Conducing of training programs, joint projects of professional development, sharing of teaching publications and periodicals, all this was possible through the memorandum of cooperation between the Kazakh National Upskilling Center “Orleu” and “EDUCARE International Consultancy”, the international branch of Singapore’s Union of Teachers signed 13 Dec. 2012.
Kazakhstan and Singapore have cemented cooperation in education as in different years, over 200 heads and teachers from Kazakhstan were upskilled under Singapore’s program “Tamasek Foundation”, with constant cooperation between private educational institutions, and Singapore being one of the famousdestinations among Kazakh students.
