State will always support those in much need – Nazarbayev

The meeting was attended by Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the Nursultan Nazarbayev Administration’s head Asset Issekeshev and Deputy Prime Minister Gulshara Abdykalikova.

During the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev spoke of the quality in implementing the measures aimed at quality-of-life and well-being issues’ improvement.

“The recent Nur Otan Party Congress have fully covered the population’s social support measures. I put forward new extensive measures to support low-paid and social vulnerable layers of the population. Today we are to get familiarized with action plans towards their implementation in detail,” the Kazakh President said.

The Head of State was given the information on the Government’s action plan to implement the tasks set, including legislative support to carry out the social policy.

Having heard reports, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the necessity to embrace all the categories of the population that are in most need.

“It is necessary that the funds allocated to support those socially vulnerable are from tax revenues. So, everyone should be aware that the State will always support those in much need while striking a balance,” said the Kazakh President.

The Head of State has underlined that social vulnerable and large families will be under the care of the State in the nearest future.

“Those low-paid families that are in much need, families with many children should receive immediate care beginning with April 1 this year,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

The Kazakh President has noted that the assessment given to heads of public authorities and Governors will have a direct influence by the citizens’ level of wellbeing and life quality.  

The Head of State has called for timely measures to increase salaries in the regions, to carry out systematic reforms in education and healthcare, to speed up the construction of housing and roads between the regions as well as to deal with the problems in the field of housing and communal services and environment. In addition, a special focus was placed to the elaboration and implementation of “Kutty meken” and Auyl – El besigi” projects.

“The regions’ Governors, Mayors of Astana, Almaty and Shymkent, each should control the urgent matters of the regions’ citizens and undertake certain measures to implement the tasks set. In addition, to control the use of funds to carry out the social policy is also one of the main directions,” said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The Head of State also outlined the need to increase the efficiency of the economic policy and the population’s active engagement in this process.

“Firstly, people should be provided with jobs. The state apparatus is tasked to make efforts to develop SMEs, create workplaces. This work should be affect every place, each city, region and village,” said the Head of State.

Concluding the meeting, the Kazakh President tasked the Presidential Administration and Nur Otan Party to carry out constant control over the implementation of the tasks set.

“The Government, Mayors and Governors, Nur Otan Party should work towards reaching substantial results, with myself controlling this process,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
