Askar Mamin became new Kazakh PM

Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed a decree appointing Askar Mamin the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, the press service of Akorda informed.

Before, at a meeting of the Bureau of the Mazhilis of the Parliament, having noted the importance of further effective implementation of the state’s strategic programs, the President submitted for discussion the candidature of Askar Mamin to the post of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

“The previous government has resigned. In this regard, I intend to discuss with you the candidacy of the new Prime Minister - Askar Mamin. He has the necessary experience. He works with me for a quarter of a century. He was the Mayor, Minister of Transport, First Deputy Prime Minister. A lot was done under his leadership, especially in the field of infrastructure development”, the Head of State said.

The President of Kazakhstan also stressed that Askar Mamin actively participated in the work of integration associations and the implementation of joint projects.

“Today is a difficult time. We face important challenges. We need to move forward quickly”, the Head of State stated.

During the meeting, the leaders of the factions of the political parties, represented in the Mazhilis, and the chairmen of the committees expressed support for the candidacy of Askar Mamin for the post of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
