Kazakhstan and Georgia discussed prospects of cooperation
At the initiative of the Kazakh side, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Georgia Bauyrzhan Mukhamedzhanov met with Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan informed.
At the meeting, they discussed bilateral issues and the significant potential for enhanced cooperation across trade, investment and culture.
The sides noted significant potential of the two countries to increase bilateral trade, and expand investment cooperation.
The Kazakh Ambassador outlined the main directions of Kazakhstan's investment strategy, and discussed the plans for Kazakh Invest to open an office in Tbilisi, which was supported by the head of the Georgian government. The diplomat also noted the importance of the upcoming trade mission of Kazakh businessmen to Tbilisi, taking place at the end of September, in maintaining the positive dynamics of bilateral trade. The Georgian side was also informed about the activities of the Astana International Financial Centre, and the International Centre for the Development of Green Technologies and Investment Projects.
Taking into account the opportunities of the Kazakh and Georgian economies, Mr. Bakhtadze stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation across energy, transit and transport. He also expressed interest in developing collaboration in the fields of green technologies and emissions removal.
The Prime Minister of Georgia expressed satisfaction with the frequency of direct flights between the capitals and major cities of the two countries, and noted the readiness of the Georgian side in facilitating additional flights from Kazakhstan to European countries.
They expressed the intention to take all necessary measures for the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, investment and tourist spheres.
