Kazakh President outlined tasks for fresh leadership of Astana
The session of the city maslikhat was held before the meeting, at which the deputies unanimously approved the candidature of new Mayor of the capital Sultanov Bakhyt Turlykhanovich.
The Head of State congratulated Asset Issekeshev on his appointment to the post of the Head of the Presidential Administration and wished him every success in his new responsible position.
The President of Kazakhstan stressed the professional and personal qualities of A. Issekeshev, and also dwelt on the results of his work in the development of the capital.
Having noted the merits of the ex-Mayor of Astana, Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the tasks facing the new leadership of the city.
"The appointment of the Mayor of the capital for me always has a special significance. The issues of city development, including the construction of all facilities in the capital, are constantly on my personal control. This is the most important priority for me. Bakhyt Sultanov has extensive experience in the state administration and necessary organizational skills", the Head of State said.
During the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan pointed to a number of priority tasks facing the new leadership of Astana.
"It is necessary to introduce a new development model. It is important to create comfortable environment for promoting innovation and the growth of creative people. To do this, we need to develop a long-term strategy for the development of the city until 2050", Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
In addition, the Head of State stressed that it is necessary to continue development of the capital as a business financial hub, using the opportunities of the "Astana" International Financial Center.
The President of Kazakhstan separately focused on the construction of new houses, the creation of favorable conditions for people to live and build social facilities.
Nursultan Nazarbayev also pointed to the importance of maintaining the pace of development of the city's infrastructure and its preparation for gasification.
The President of Kazakhstan instructed to use the best practices in the development of the tourist potential of the capital.
Among the priorities of Astana's further development, Nursultan Nazarbayev highlighted the necessity to continue transforming the work of all city government structures, improving the quality of public services and implementing a digitalization program.
In conclusion, A. Issekeshev and B. Sultanov thanked the Head of State for his trust, and also expressed their readiness to continue contributing to the development of the capital and the whole country.
