Bakhyt Sultanov is the Mayor of Astana
Bakhyt Turlykhanovich Sultanov was born on November 29, 1971.
In 1988 he graduated from Republican Physics and Mathematics Boarding School in Alma-Ata.
In 1994 he graduated from Kazakh National Technical University as an electrical engineer, in 1995 he graduated from Kazakh State Academy of Management as an economist.
He began his labor activity in 1994 as a leading economist of the corporatization and licensing office at the Department of Securities of the Financial Market to the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan.
In different years Bakhyt Sultanov worked in the Budget Department, in the Department of Public Procurement, in the Agency for Statistics.
- From January 2007 to August 10, 2007 – the Vice-Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan.
- Since August 10, 2007 - Minister of Economy and Budget Planning of Kazakhstan.
- On March 13, 2010, by the Decree of the Head of State, he was appointed as an assistant to the President of Kazakhstan.
On January 21, 2012 President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the decree appointing Bakhyt Sultanov to the post of the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan.
2013-2014 – the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan - Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan, in April 2014 reassigned;
Since August 2014 - Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan, reassigned to the same post on April 30, 2015.
From July 1, 2017 – he was elected as a member of the board of directors of KazAgro national holding company.
