Kazakh Foreign Minister met with UN special rep and Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov held a series of meetings on the sidelines of the regional conference titled "Expansion of the Rights and Opportunities of Women in Afghanistan", held in Astana.
While meeting with UN Secretary-General's Special Representative and Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, Natalia Gherman Kazakhstan-UN current interaction was talked over.
The Minister pointed out President Nursultan Nazarbayev pays constant attention to the issues of regional security, cooperation and sustainable development and the conference is one more evidence of it.
Kazakhstan and its international partners will cooperate in the implementation of the results of the Astana forum on Afghanistan.
In this regard the prospects of creating a regional UN hub in Almaty, which can serve as a platform for coordination of projects discussed during the Astana conference, are considered.
