Kazakhstan highly appreciates Afghan measures on advancement of women
Speaking on the conference Gulshara Abdikalikova read out the welcoming speech of the President of Kazakhstan stressing Kazakhstan's commitment to the speedy establishment of peace in Afghanistan, as well as the steps taken by the Afghan Government to improve the status of women, promote gender equality and achieve peace.
Besides Kazakh State Secretary noted the importance of involving Afghanistan in economic relations with the countries of Central Asia. In this regard, Gulshara Abdykalikova proposed to develop a comprehensive program for the development of women's entrepreneurship with the broad participation of international business in the implementation of specific economic projects in Afghanistan and in the region as a whole. This, in turn, will expand the socio-economic opportunities for women in Afghanistan.
Summarizing the conference Astana Declaration has adopted. The document specifies directions of regional interaction on women's empowerment in Afghanistan and overall promotion of gender mainstreaming in the countries of Central Asia.
