Kazakhstan agreed with FBI on further training and sharing best practices
Themeeting was attended by representatives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau,FBI and law department of the US Embassy.
Strengthenin gbilateral relations and cooperation in war on corruption was on the agenda.
Chairmanof Agency for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption of Kazakhstan told onthe practice of the country's civil service reforms, upgrading of publicservice rendering and promotion of international cooperation taking into account transparency and accountability principles.
Besides,Alik Shpekbayev focused on priorities and prospects for further development ofthe agency.
Inturn David Bowdich briefed on the directions of FBI activities highlighting themeasures taken to fight corruption.
Moreover,the meeting discussed training and upgrading skills of the staff members of theNational Anti-Corruption Bureau at the FBI National Academy in Quantico,Virginia.
Itshould be noted the sides exchanged their views on wages, welfare benefits, andstaff retirement plan and health maintenance as well.
Inconclusion the interlocutors agreed to further fruitful bilateral cooperation.
While meeting of David Bowdich,with Prosecutor General of the Republicof Kazakhstan Kairat Kozhamzharov cooperation in fulfilment of requests forproviding mutual legal assistance was talked over.
The interlocutors addressed activityof the law enforcement bodies at the General Prosecutor's Office, and prospects to exchange experience with the FBI Academy, which is well known by its unique program for employees of law enforcement bodies around the world, were discussed.
Besides extradition of persons between Kazakhstan and the USA, the transfer of convicted persons to serve their terms of punishment in their states as well were touched upon.
The delegation of the Federal Bureau of Investigation has informed on the activity of the oversight body, its functions and tasks, achievements in the field ofinternational cooperation, reforms held in the country to modernize andhumanize the criminal policy.
Having noted thehuge experience of the work of the Bureau in preventing transnational crimes, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan expressed the readiness to expand interaction.
