Abdrakhmanov visited International Turkic Academy
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov visited the International Turkic Academy and got acquainted with its activities.

It was established in 2010 on the initiative of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. This year the Turkic Academy has celebrated its 8th anniversary.
"In a short period the Academy has done a lot of work, made a significant contribution to the development of cultural, historical and scientific cooperation between the member states of the Council of Cooperation of Turkic-speaking countries - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey (Turkic Council). The Academy was transformed into an intellectual organization", the Foreign Minister noted.
Kairat Abdrakhmanov emphasized that the draft concept of Turkic integration developed within the scientific organization will become one of the important documents of the planned 6th Summit of the Turkic Council.
"The members of the Council work to complete the process of institutionalization of the Turkic Academy and bring to a qualitatively new level the Turkic cultural and humanitarian cooperation", the Minister of Foreign Affairs said.
President of the Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali thanked Head of State N. Nazarbayev and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the support provided in the establishment of the scientific organization of the international level and assured that the Academy staff will make every effort to develop cooperation between the Turkic states.

"The Academy conducts a great research work on the study of the heritage of the Turkic world. We have completed work on the development of secondary school textbooks "Common Turkic History" and we continue working on the drafts of the textbooks "Common Turkic Literature" and "Common Turkic Geography" until the 15th century. In addition, the Academy staff is developing two projects - "Atalar Mirasy" and Turkbarometr", Kydyrali said.
The Academy has a museum with exhibits of the Turkic world and a library fund numbering more than 50,000 books on Turkic studies and its cultural heritage.
K. Abdrakhmanov awarded academicians with diplomas for promotion of international initiatives in the research field and development of Turkic cooperation, and also transferred books on foreign policy activities of the Head of State and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Fund of the Turkic Academy.
For reference: The objective of the Academy is to become a unique center coordinating scientific researches on the language, literature, culture, history of Turkic people from ancient times to the present-day and evaluating the contribution of the Turkic civilization to the human civilization on the basis of indigenous sources. The mission is to spearhead scientific cooperation across the Turkic world, help the initiatives of scholars from Turkic-speaking states and organize academic meetings on a regular basis.
