President of Kazakhstan will meet with Heads of Central Asian States
He said that on March 13 this year the Head of State will hold a meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Chong Se Gun.
On March 14, at the invitation of Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will arrive in Kazakhstan on an official visit. Within the framework of the visit, two Heads of State will discuss topical issues of the bilateral, regional and international agenda.
On March 15, the President of Kazakhstan will take part in the Working (Consultative) Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Importantly, the five-party talks will be held on the eve of the Nauryz holiday common for all countries of Central Asia.
Kazakhstani political scientist Yerlan Karin commented on the forthcoming consultation meeting of the Heads of the Central Asian republics.
"Now there is an active preparation for the forthcoming meeting. And although the planned meeting will not be called a summit but it will have the nature of a working meeting of the Heads of State, it will nevertheless become a major breakthrough in the regional cooperation, since for the first time in many years the leaders of the countries will gather not in the fields of external sites (for example, the SCO summit, CIS, etc.), but they will meet on their own initiative. And although no one says that the goal is to institutionalize regional cooperation (there is no talk of creating an alliance or unification), in any case, the upcoming meeting in Astana contributes to the creation of a certain mechanism for discussing common issues and formulating a common regional agenda", he wrote on his Facebook page.
In connection with earlier planned events at the highest level, Turkmenistan will be represented by Chairman of the Mejlis, Mrs. A.T. Nurberdyeva.
On the same day, the opening ceremony of the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan with the participation of N. Nazarbayev and Sh. Mirziyoyev will take place. Also, the leaders of two countries will attend a gala concert of masters of the arts.
On March 16, the Head of State will meet with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Turkey and Iran - participants of the first ministerial meeting of the guarantor countries of the Astana process on Syria.
