N.Nigmatulin received reps of the World Bank
During the conversation, N. Nigmatulin emphasized the great work done over 25 years of our country's cooperation with this global financial institution. The Speaker of the Mazhilis noted over the years 46 projects have been financed in Kazakhstan, 48 more are in the portfolio of the cooperation program today, and since 2002 the Program of joint economic studies has been implemented. Last year the Partnership Strategy between Kazakhstan and the World Bank for 2012-2017 was implemented.
Speaking about the development of our country, N. Nigmatulin emphasized the importance of the currently implemented “Nurly Zhol” program initiated by the President of Kazakhstan, which includes major projects for the construction of transport, social and energy infrastructure, SME development.
The Permanent Representative of the World Bank in Kazakhstan highly appreciated the achievements of our country got during the years of independence. According to Ato Brown, the World Bank is proud of working together with Kazakhstan.
As Lilia Burunciuc noted, Kazakhstan is the most important partner of the World Bank in Central Asia and working with our country is one of the most important areas of the World Bank. Large-scale projects are being implemented here.
Issues of cooperation with parliamentarians were also discussed.
According to the Speaker of the Mazhilis, the experience and knowledge of the Bank's experts will be useful in the legislative work of the deputy corps. In particular, the importance of discussing issues such as improving state support for agriculture, digitalization of the industry, as well as exploring the possibilities of introducing innovative financial instruments was noted.
