Kazakhstani parliamentarians took part in OSCE PA winter session
The delegation of the Parliament of Kazakhstan visited Vienna for participation in the winter session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the press service of the Senate of Kazakhstan’s Parliament informed.
The delegation included members of the Senate Darkhan Kaletayev, Dulat Kustavletov, Tuleubek Mukashev, Mikhail Bortnik and deputy of the Mazhilis Kuralay Karaken.
Within the framework of the visit, there was a meeting with the members of the Austrian Parliament, led by member of the National Council Reinhold Lopatka. The representatives of the legislative bodies of two countries discussed further prospects of the Kazakh-Austrian cooperation, including the need to build up trade and economic ties, inter-regional cooperation, the possibility of facilitating a visa regime.
The Standing Committee held meetings with the committees of the OSCE PA. In particular, D. Kaletayev and T. Mukashev accepted participation in the work of the General Committee on Political Affairs and Security, D. Kustavletov - in the work of the General Committee for Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Issues. M. Bortnik and K. Karaken participated in the meeting of the General Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment.
In addition, D. Kaletayev held a meeting with Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE Georgy Tsereteli. The senator informed the interlocutor about the constitutional reform in Kazakhstan. The parties considered prospects for further cooperation of the Parliament Kazakhstan with the OSCE PA. They also talked about the preservation and development of heritage of the Astana Summit, the priorities of Kazakhstan’s presidency in the UN Security Council.
