Kazakhstan and USA to cooperate in space-based remote sensing of Earth
Thus, a Letter of Intent was signed between the Aerospace Committee of the MDAI of Kazakhstan and the US Geological Service of the US Department of Internal Resources ("USGS"), aimed at mutually beneficial cooperation in the application of space technologies for remote sensing of the Earth and development of spatial data infrastructure.
By the way, "USGS" participates in Kazakhstan in the project on monitoring the state of water resources in the Ili-Balkhash region. With the participation of the USGS, remote sensing data (RS) the receip of data of the remote sensing of the Earth was organized from the LandSat satellite-7,8, to the ground complex in Astana. Also, "USGS" is involved in the monitoring of disasters and emergencies within the framework of the International Charter on Space and Major Disasters.
In addition, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between JSC NC "Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary" and Hexagon Geospatial, a leading global provider of information technologies used to improve the quality and productivity of geoinformation systems.
"The purpose of this document is the organization of joint activities in the field of modern geospatial information technologies and software tools for increasing the effectiveness of Kazakhstan's space remote sensing system (Earth remote sensing)", explained the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"Galam" LLP and the "iDirect" company, which is the world leader in the field of satellite communications terrestrial infrastructure, also concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation providing for interaction of the sides in the development of satellite communication systems for various purposes, as well as other products and services of mutual interest.
In addition, the management of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary" of the MDAI of Kazakhstan met with representatives of the company "ESRI". During the talks, the possibilities of using the server platform "ESRI" within the framework of space monitoring of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as issues related to the implementation of space images of the remote sensing of the Earth system of Kazakhstan were discussed.
