Air quality now can be monitored via mobile app
The app is already available on iOS and Android. With its help, the user can monitor the quality of atmospheric air throughout the territory of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan reported.
AirKZ provides data on 46 settlements and 84 ecological posts. The user can manually select the required posts or according to geolocation data the application will automatically determine the nearest post.
The application displays the main indicators of the concentration of pollutants in the air of the selected post (depending on the equipment):
- Nitrogen dioxide (NO2);
- Nitric oxide (NO);
- Suspended particles PM10;
- Suspended particles PM2.5;
- Dust;
- Sulfur dioxide (SO2);
- Hydrogen sulphide (H2S);
- Carbon monoxide (CO).
"The data is updated every hour. In addition to monitoring data, AirKZ has a description of each substance and its effect on human health", explained the Ministry of Energy.
For each substance, it is possible to view the concentration level in mg/m3 and in relation to the maximum permissible concentration (hereinafter referred to as MPC) (on a color scale: 0-1 MPC - low, 1-5 - high, 5-10 - high level, more than 10 MPC - very high).
Also, the dynamics of changes in concentrations over the past 24 hours are available. The graph shows the MPC limit, when exceeded, the graph is colored corresponding to the scale.
