First center for children with special educational needs opened in SKR
We note that this is the first institution in the region to treat children with disabilities.
"In order to improve the lives of children and to achieve their bright future, the timely assistance of qualified specialists is needed. That is why a center for children with special educational needs and their families was opened. Now, thanks to the help of qualified specialists, our children will be able to get education at the proper level", Governor of the region Zhanseit Tuymebayev said.
According to the information of Governor’s Office, this is the eighth project in the country that is implemented by the "Dara" Charitable Foundation and the regional department of education of South Kazakhstan region with the support of the Fund for the Development of Social Projects "Samruk-Kazyna Trust". There, any special child and his family can receive the comprehensive qualified help from a defectologist, psychologist, speech therapist, faculty, masseur and typhlo-pedagogue. The correction cabinet is able to receive up to 150 children annually.
In addition, during the meeting, the Governor of the region expressed his gratitude to founder of "Dara" Charity Fund Gulnara Dossayeva for her significant contribution to the creation of the center. In turn, G. Dossayeva stressed that training and treatment in such a center will allow children to recover faster.
In general, more than nine thousand children with special educational needs live in Shymkent, including more than 4,000 of them are children with disabilities and 672 preschool children with developmental disabilities.
