NATD to present 13 innovative grants for 2.4bn tenge

The National agancy on technological development (hereafter - the Agency) supparized the results on the Program for presenting innovative grants. Over the period of acceptance of applications in 2017 from August 2 to October 2, 208 applications were received, out of which a23 applications for commercialization of technologies, 20 applications for technological development of spheres, 65 applications for technological development of existing enterproses. The most number of applications were accepted in the priority direction of presenting innovative grants "info-communication technologies" (52), the Agency informed.

Representatives of Almaty and Astana were the most active participants of the grant program, who submitted 66 and 48 applications respectively.

Granting was carried out in accordance with the Rules for presenting innovative grants, which were amended and supplemented by the Ministry for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2017.

Of the received 208 applications for innovative grants: 123 applications were sent for technological expertise; 36 applications were withdrawn by the Applicants at various stages of the review; 33 applications were withdrawn from consideration in connection with the failure to submit the finalized application; 16 applications did not meet the requirements of the Rules.

"According to the results of the technological expertise 19 applications received positive conclusion out of 123", reads the message.

19 applications, which passed the technological expertise, submitted to financial and economic and legal expertise. As a result, 14 applications received the positive conclusion of the financial and economic expertise, 18 applications of legal expertise. The main reasons for the rejection based on the results of the expertises are the discrepancy between the applications and the requirements of the Rules, the absence/incorrectness of the documents justifying the investment costs and the unsatisfactory financial condition of the applicants.

Applications that have passed the examination were reviewed by an independent commission on grant financing. The commission included representatives of the Ministry for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other state, public organizations of the relevant industries, as well as employees of the agency.

For today according to the results  of the sessions of the Commission on grant financing held in November 10, 2017, January 11, 12 , 2018, the decision to issue 13 innovative grants for a total amount of 2.4 billion tenge was taken. 

We note that the National Agency for technological development (NATD) was established to facilitate the provision of coordination of procedures of innovative development and the presentation of measures of state support.
