Digital technologies to become perspective direction of coop of Kazakhstan and Finland
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, noting the dynamic development of Kazakhstani-Finish interation, R. Vasilenko highly appraised the work of the Kazakhstani-Finish Inter-parliamentary commission on trade and economic cooperation. He noted the lst positive tendencies in the bilateral agenda with pleasure. In particular, in 2017, Helsinki held the presentation of the Kazakhsyani-Finish center of green technologies.
Thus, the container railway route Kouvola (Finland) - Buslovskaya (Russia) - Altynkol (Kazakhstan) - Xi'an (China) has been launched. During EXPO-2017, "Finnair" carried out direct flights Helsinki-Astana.
V. Skinnari, noting the high level of bilateral cooperation, stressed the special role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
"Agriculture, transport and logistics, digital technologies are promising areas for cooperation and implementation of projects", he says.
The sides also raised the issue, that Kazakhstan and Finland as mutual strategic partners in Central Asia and North Europe support each other in many international innitiatives, contribute greatly to the development of a political dialogue, trade and economic and cultural and humanitarian cooperation between these regions.
For instance, bilateral trade turnover for January-Novermber, 2017, comprised 283.6 million US dollars (exports - 172.3 mln, imports - 111.2 mln). In 2016 - 341.8 million US dollars (exports - 217.6 mln, imports - 124.2 mln).
The Parliaments of Kazakhstan and Suomi, where the groups of friendship of both countries under the leadership of Deputies Kuanysh Sultanov and Ville Skinnari function, hold an active dialogue. Thus, in 2016, an official visit of Chairman of the Mazhili of Parliament of Kazakhstan Nurlana Nigmatulin to Finland was held. In 2017, the speakers of the Mazhilis and the Parliament of Finland met on the sidelines of the 137th Assembly of the Inter-parliamentary union in Saint-Petersburg, and First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Finland M. Pekkarinen and Deputies Ilkka Kanerva and Eero Heinaluoma visited Astana.
Within its visit to Astana, the Finish delegation met with speakers of the Parliament of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev and N. Nigmatulin, as well as with head of the inter-parliamentary group of friendship with Finland K. Sultanov.
