President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev received credentials from Ambassadors of a number of foreign States.
Thus, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden Mats Foyer, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba Emilio Pevida Pupo, Ambassador of the Republic of India Prabhat Kumar and Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Mike John Gifford presented their credentials to President Nazarbayev.
The Head of State congratulated the Ambassadors and noted that today the official start of their diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan took place.
"I hope that your responsible honorary mission will contribute to the comprehensive development of cooperation between our States. Your work begins in an interesting and responsible period. Today the world is on the verge of global change. New technologies change the world economy, the competitiveness of countries, the way of life of a person. That is why, yesterday I delivered an Address to the people of Kazakhstan on the topic "New possibilities for development in the conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution". I put 10 specific tasks on the main direction of development of the economy, social sphere, as well as state governance", the President of Kazakhstan addressed the Ambassadors.
As the Head of State noted, one of our key partners in the world is undoubtedly the United Kingdom.
"Cooperation between our countries is built on a solid basis of mutual respect and trust. Today, Great Britain is one of the largest investors and trading partners of Kazakhstan. My visit to London in 2015 gave a powerful impetus to this productive interaction", Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
Kazakhstan attaches special importance to the development of cooperation with Sweden and India.
"Last year, our countries began to work in the UN Security Council and work closely on topical issues on the international agenda. We regard the Republic of India as an important foreign policy and trade and economic partner of Kazakhstan. I am sincerely glad that your country joined in the SCO as a full member", the President continued.
Our country is also interested in the expansion of bilateral cooperation with Cuba.
"Recently, the development of Kazakhstani-Cuban relations has become more active. In 2016 my first official visit to Cuba took place. During the negotiations with the leadership of your country, we have identified new prospects for further cooperation between our countries", the Head of State noted.
In conclusion, the President wished Ambassadors interesting and productive work in Astana.
