"The transportation of socially important freights is provided in full. 103.2 million tons of coal were shipped, which is 13 million tons, or 14% more than in 2016. The volume of loading grain and grocery products in grain equivalent amounted to 13.5 million tons. The volume of transit railway transportation of goods amounted to 16 million tons, which is 23% more than in 2016.
"In 2018, the total volume of transit traffic is planned to increase to 17.1 million tons. In 2018, the total volume of transport by China-Europe-China communication will be about 340 thousand TEU", was announced during the meeting.
The launch of the Kuryk ferry complex and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line gave an additional impetus to the export container transportation along the Transcaspian transport route. A significant event of the integration of Kazakhstan's logistics infrastructure into the global transportation network was the entry into the capital of the Dry Port of the SEZ "Khorgos - Eastern Gate" of the world's largest company COSCO Shipping.
Thus, according to KTZ information, the freight turnover in 2018 should reach 214 billion ton-kilometers, passenger turnover - 15 billion passenger-kilometers, the operating profit should be about 170 billion tenge. By 2020, it is necessary to increase revenues from transit up to 5 billion US dollars a year, increasing transportation to 2 million containers.
