Head of State met with US Ambassador

Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Kazakhstan George Krol, the press-service of the Akorda informs.

The Head of State, noting the special role of George Krol in the development of relations between the United States and the Republic of Kazakhstan, stressed that today's meeting is taking place on the eve of an official visit to the United States of America.

"For 26 years, friendly relations have been built between our countries, more than 70 interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements have been signed", the President of Kazakhstan said.

During the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the importance of the agreements reached with US President D.Trump on priority areas of the strategic partnership, including in the areas of combating terrorism, strengthening the nuclear non-proliferation regime, and further expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation.

"About 500 companies work in Kazakhstan with American participation, more than 140 of which are joint. They are engaged in the production of goods and the export of their products to other countries", the Head of State said.

In turn, George Krol thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the high appreciation of his diplomatic activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan and expressed his confidence that the forthcoming visit will further strengthen the ties between the two States.
