Taxation should stimulate business development - Senator
To date, there are more than 30 types of taxes and various payments in Kazakhstan. According to Y. Mamytbekov, the domestic tax code is incomprehensible in comparison with the tax legislation of other States. In this regard, the Senator advocated a reduction in the level of taxation, taking into account the economic opportunities of regions and cities, and noted the need to simplify tax administration, the Senate press-service reported.
Mamytbekov believes that the solution to the problem consists not so much in quantitative reduction of types of taxes, as in the differentiated application of corporate income tax and value added tax. Taxation, in his opinion, should stimulate the development of business.
The prospects of modernizing the work of the customs service were discussed in detail. Yedil Mamytbekov drew attention to the need for customs authorities to develop appropriate regulations and adapt free economic zones for the entry into force of the new Customs Code. The customs, the parliamentarian stressed, should be ready to shorten the terms for processing goods from one day to four hours.
During the meeting, other issues of the social and economic life of the capital were raised. In particular, Maslikhat Deputy Zaure Zhusupova made a proposal to introduce the education and upbringing of children in preschool institutions in the state language. Following the meeting, it was recommended that this initiative be discussed at the republican level.
