37 pre-school institutions built in Zhambyl rgn in 2017

Last year, thirty-three kindergartens for 2,922 sits and four mini-centers with 275 seats were opened in the region. Of these, thirty private kindergartens for 2,360 places (in 2016 - twenty-nine private kindergartens for 2,555 places). The proportion of children from one year to six years is 61.4%, from three to six years - 90.2%, the Governor's Office of Zhambyl region reported.

In the region, conditions have been created for the upbringing of 7 895 children with special educational needs. Of these, 2,581 children with speech impairments are involved in upbringing and education in pre-school institutions. In two special kindergartens - 622 children, in forty-four groups of ten pre-school institutions 739 children are engaged, and in the fifty-nine educational facilities, 1 220 children are involved in inclusive education.

"In addition, the region is working to counter religious extremism and terrorism. According to the regional education department in 308 kindergartens there are passports of antiterrorist protection and 251 or 81.5 per cent of CCTV cameras are installed", the report said.

To implement the instruction of the Head of State on the 100% coverage of children from three to six years, pre-school education in Zhambyl region has developed and approved a step-by-step plan according to which the opening of 2,995 places was planned last year, but the plan was overfulfilled by 1,628 places.

A certain work is being done in the region to expand the network of private preschool organizations at the expense of small and medium-sized businesses.

It should be noted that until 2010 there were only two private kindergartens in the region. To date, 96 private children's institutions with coverage of 10,120 children, or 19.7%, are functioning.

Work is also underway to develop networks of pre-school education organizations on the basis of the mechanism of public-private partnership.

It should be noted that within the framework of the "Development Program of the Zhambyl region for 2016-2020" it is planned to implement six PPP projects on the construction of preschool institutions. Among them kindergartens for 280 places in Taraz, in the village of Kulan the T. Ryskulovsky district and in the city of Karatau in the Talas district, kindergartens for 140 sits in the villages of Ornek and Zhaksylyk of T. Ryskulovsky district, as well as  the trust department of the kindergarten No.9 of the Education Department of the city of Taraz.
