Electronic ticketing in busses of Karaganda to be launched in May
The program of electronic ticketing is implemented by the Almaty company SMART CARD. With this company, we signed a memorandum of mutual cooperation. At present, all 9 passenger carriers of the city have concluded contracts with the company. Until the end of January the Karaganda branch will be opened. After that, work will begin on installing payment terminals in city buses, as well as making payment cards", the Mayor of Karaganda said.
The system is scheduled to be launched in May. For beneficiaries and pupils of schools, personalized cards with a photograph will be made, which excludes falsification and transfer of the card to an unauthorized person. In addition, passengers will be able to pay for travel by means of mobile communication.
The Mayor of the city emphasized the advantages of the electronic ticketing.
First of all, this will have a big positive effect, as the financial transparency of the activities of the carriers is ensured. In addition, this will allow local executive bodies to subsidize the transportation of beneficiary categories of citizens and subsidizing socially significant routes", Nurlan Aubakirov said.
In turn, the revenue of carriers is projected to increase due to the completeness of fees and, accordingly, the revenues to the budget from their activities.
Under the agreement with the law enforcement bodies, each bus will have 4 CCTV cameras installed.
Yerlan Koshanov instructed to keep the implementation process of the system under constant control.
