KTZ introduces new standards of industrial safety
Since January of this year JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" within the Business Transformation Program is starting a practical transition to a new model of industrial safety management.
"The new model establishes common approaches and principles of management to all components of safety: traffic safety, labor, fire, industrial and environmental safety", Director of the department of industrial safety and ecology of JSC "NC "KTZ" Akbulat Zhagiparov said.
According to him, the new model will enhance the culture of safety, transparency of reporting, the level of automation of security processes, the share of preventive measures in the organization of business processes, which ultimately will improve the level of safety in the Company and reduce the impact on the environment.
One of the conditions for the introduction of the new model is the preparation of an appropriate regulatory framework, including documents of the upper and the base level. Within the framework of this work, new standards have been approved. They concern identification of hazards and environmental aspects, their assessment and management of risks in the field of industrial safety; security management in the performance of work by contractors; management of incidents with the definition of their root causes; prevention and liquidation of emergency situations; behavioral dialogue while ensuring security.
The standards are developed taking into account the requirements of a new management model that takes into account the best world practice and the provisions of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna" Reference Model prepared for portfolio companies.
According to the information of KTZ, the training of employees of the company has already started, performance indicators have been prepared, through which the requirements of regulatory documents will be monitored.
We note that in December last year in Shymkent there was a republican industry conference on the introduction of a new model of industrial safety management. More than 200 managers and specialists from the structural divisions of the company took part in it, where the adopted approach to the development of the new Standards was widely approved.
