Kazakhstan announced competition for granting state grants for NGOs

The competition can be attended by NGOs that have applied for a grant, information about which is contained in the NGO Database.

The non-commercial joint-stock company "Center for Support of Civil Initiatives" with the support of the Ministry of Religious and Civil Society Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan announces a competition for granting state grants to non-governmental organizations in order to support civil initiatives, attracting the potential of civil society institutions to solve urgent issues of social sphere development, the press-service of the Ministry informs.

"NGOs that apply for a grant may participate in the competition, information about which is contained in the NGO Database, with the exception of NGOs that are in the process of liquidation, recognized as insolvent (bankrupt), whose assets are seized and (or) whose economic activity suspended", the statement says.

According to the Grant Plan for non-governmental organizations for 2018, grants include 87 topics on 11 socially important areas, namely the achievement of goals in the field of education, science, information, physical culture and sports, protecting citizens' health, promoting healthy lifestyles, policies and initiatives for children, addressing gender issues, supporting socially vulnerable segments of the population, protecting the rights, legitimate interests of citizens, protecting the historical and cultural heritage.

According to the Committee on Civil Society Affairs of the Ministry of Religious and Civil Society Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the plan is formed on the basis of priorities of the state policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, strategic and program documents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Presidential Addresses, as well as proposals of state bodies and non-governmental organizations.

The application for participation in the competition for granting state grants is accepted before February 2, 2018.

We note that the Center for Support of Civil Initiatives is a non-profit organization that, in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 31, 2015, is the operator in the field of grant financing of non-governmental organizations.
