59 establishments in energy sector being built in South Kazakhstan
According to the comprehensive plan of measures for 2017-2021, the settlements of the region are planned to provide with high-quality electricity, the Governor's Office of the region reported.
For today in South Kazakhstan region the Concept on transition to a "green economy", approved by the Head of State is successfully realized. In accordance with this Concept, two small hydroelectric power stations have been launched this year in the Sayram and Kazygurt districts. In addition, Shymkent became the first city in Central Asia where a biogas plant was launched. Along with this, construction of two large solar power stations began in the Saryagash and Maktaaral districts.
In 2018, a small hydroelectric power station with a capacity of 2.5 megawatts is planned to be brought into service in the Tolebi district. In addition, in the Saryagash district the construction of a small hydroelectric power plant with a total capacity of 5 megawatts, as well as a 35 megawatt solar power plant in the Otrar district is intended.
It should be noted that according to the comprehensive plan of measures for 2017-2021, the settlements of the region are planned to be provided with high-quality electricity. In accordance with this plan, the quality of electricity until 2021 is planned to cover 198 settlements, where a total of 361 990 people live.
Also, in the southern region, 14 large substations are under construction. In this direction, in 2017, 15.1 billion tenge was allocated from the republican and regional budgets. Construction works of 59 establishments are being carried out (in 101 settlements), including 2,320.3 million tenge was allocated from the National Fund for the implementation of 15 projects under the "Nurly zher" program in the Saryagash district.
"It is expected that this year the construction of 47 establishments, and in 2018, 12 establishments will be completed. Owing to the full implementation of these projects, more than 87 thousand people living in 85 settlements of the region will be provided with high-quality electricity", the Governor's Office informed.
Moreover, in 2018, the construction of the "Alatau" and "Akzhar" substations of 110 kV, with a total cost of 8.5 billion tenge, is planned through the mechanism of public-private partnership.
