Kazatomprom expects positive economic effect

Kazatomprom expects a positive economic effect from the introduction of new 11 projects by 2025. Thus, as part of the implementation of the Transformation Program, the amount will be about 136 billion tenge. It was stated during the press-conference in the Center for Strategic Studies by Chairman of the Board of JSC "NAC "Kazatomprom" Galymzhan Pirmatov.

According to the speaker, the Company intends to concentrate on its main activity - extraction and production of uranium. To this end, the restructuring of non-core assets is currently under way.

"If in 2015 there were 82 subsidiaries in Kazatomprom, today their number has dropped to 49", Galymzhan Pirmatov emphasized.

Thus, a significant project of this year was the launch of the Low Enriched Uranium Bank of the IAEA in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Work has begun on another promising direction - the manufacture of medical implants using tantalum-containing alloys for the human body.

We note that the Company has become a world leader, having accumulated experience in the sphere of mining and production of uranium. Kazatomprom's products are supplied to the USA, China, Frankfurt, the UK, India, South Korea, Belgium, Ukraine, Austria and other countries.
