15 thousand Kazakhstani people trained under "Bastau Business" project

20 December, 2017 19:42
In Kazakhstan, within the "Bastau Business" project, 15 thousand people were trained the basics of doing business. It was said by Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Timur Suleimenov at the session of the Government.

As the Minister recalled, in order to involve the greater part of the rural population in business and ensure their productive employment, a program of long-term training in the basics of doing business under the "Bastau Business" project was launched this year.

"The project covered 80 districts of 14 regions of the Republic. Training for one month provides for the payment of one-time scholarships (16,759 tenge), preparation of a business plan for the subsequent receipt of financing from financial institutions, as well as support of entrepreneurs' projects within a year from the date of completion of training. In the current year, 6 streams of training were conducted under the "Bastau Business" project, the total number of applications for participation in the project was over 21,000. 15,000 people successfully completed training, of which the unemployed category of citizens was 57%, self-employed 43% out of the total number of trained . The most active age group among the rural population is people from 30 to 49 years", T. Suleimenov informed.

The Minister also noted that one of the factors of the effectiveness of training is the development of a business idea and its formation as a business project that is ready for being financed in financial institutions.

"Out of the number of trained persons, more than 8,200 people have prepared business plans, of which 3,314 business projects have already been financed. Taking into account that the "Bastau-Business" project is being implemented in rural areas, the financing of business projects is mainly carried out at the expense of funds allocated for microcrediting in rural areas. The developed business projects of start-up entrepreneurs envisage the implementation of entrepreneurial initiatives in the sectors of the economy that are characteristic of the village. It includes livestock and crop production - about 80% of all projects. The remaining 20% are projects in other sectors of the economy, such as small-scale processing, services, transportation of passengers and others", T. Suleimenov noted.
