Funds for development of green zones in Almaty to grow 6.3 times in 2018
Almaty city budget for 2018 was approved in the amount of 431.2 billion tenge. When it was formed, the most cost-effective solutions that brought the greatest socio-economic effect were taken into account. After the analysis of the budget from scratch, the main financial document of the city was structured not by administrators but by priorities of the "Almaty 2020" development program and the social needs of citizens.
So, according to the information of Mayor’s Office, next year a "priority number one" is landscaping, gardening and improvement of the ecological situation, where more than a third of the city's budget goes.
"The work will continue on the reconstruction of the historical center of the city: modernization of 178 hectares is planned within the borders of Tole bi St. - Dostyk Ave. - Abai Ave. - Yessentay Embankment. Next year 17 pedestrian zones will be equipped, reconstruction on the Republic Square will be completed according to international standards. At the same time, the development of parks, squares and green spaces in the budget for 2018 envisages 6.3 times more funds than this year", Mayor’s Office noted.
In 2018 it is planned to repair about 500 Almaty yards. Thus, the share of well-maintained households will be brought up to 33%. It is worth noting that over the past two years 732 yards have been repaired and equipped in Almaty, that is, every fifth Almaty court.
At the same time, 3.3 times more funds will be allocated for the reconstruction of the irrigation network.
