On introducing amendments and additions to religious legislation of RK
According to the Vice-Minister, the first block is aimed at preventing the use of a religion for destructive purposes. Thus, the legal definition of such concepts as "destructive religious movement" and "religious radicalism" is introduced into the legislation.
"The draft law provides for a ban on the use and public demonstration of attributes and external signs of destructive movements and the spread of their ideology", the speaker said.
The second block contains norms for adjusting the activities of state bodies. The requirements for civil servants are clarified in the part of preventing the use of official position in the interests of religions. Also, the draft law proposes to expand the functions of the police in the prevention of crimes related to religious activities.
"The third block includes amendments designed to make the work of the religious associations easier and more understandable. This concerns, for example, simplifying the requirements for registration of regional religious associations. The processes of obtaining religious education abroad are being regulated", Berik Aryn said.
It should be noted that the draft law also includes norms on increasing the transparency of financial activities of religious associations. In general, there are about 50 amendments and additions to 12 legislative acts.
