Within the framework of the round table, reports of representatives of non-governmental organizations dealing with environmental issues were heard. On the dialogue platform, topical issues related to environmental protection and practical implementation of environmental initiatives in Kazakhstan were voiced.
"The Association, having the necessary human potential, will be able to effectively deal with issues of improving environmental legislation". An important activity of the Association is also work with the younger generation and development of international cooperation", Presidium Chairman Aliya Nazarbayeva said.
In turn, Deputy Head of the Office of OSCE Programs in Astana Diana Digol identified promising areas of cooperation with the Association. According to her, the Office of OSCE Programs in Astana in 2018 is ready to participate in the development of a national strategy for the transition to low-carbon development, to support Kazakhstan in promoting awareness of the "green economy". The Office is ready to support the implementation of the principles of integrated water resources management at the national level and the promotion of transboundary water cooperation, as well as issues related to water quality.
Also, during the event certificates were presented confirming membership in the Association. To date, it includes 30 leading organizations of the country with many years of experience in the field of ecology. It is worth noting that those wishing to become members of the Association can leave an application online on the website of the Association.
Participants of the roundtable and members of the Association agreed that the Association faces the task of identifying the most pressing environmental problems and finding ways to solve them.
