He also said that diesel hydrotreating units are launched.
According to the speaker, commissioning of the main catalytic cracking unit started at the Atyrau refinery. This plant is responsible for processing fuel oil, increasing the production of gasoline and diesel fuel.
"We expect that the installation will be launched in mid-December. After that, all other process units will start functioning. So, within the framework of modernization of the Atyrau refinery, 12 new process units and about 56 facilities of the plant are handed over", the representative of NC "KazMunayGas" JSC said.
Daniyar Tiyessov noted, the first stage of modernization at the Shymkent oil refinery has also been completed. The products comply with K-4 standards. The second stage, which includes the work to increase the production of gasoline, diesel fuel and aviation kerosene, will be completed next year.
Kuandyk Kulmurzin, the Chairman of the Management Board of "KazMunayGaz Onimderi" LLP, assured that the technical component of the modernization of Kazakhstan’s oil refineries will be completed by the end of this year. In the beginning of 2018 start-up and adjustment works will begin.
It should be noted that due to the long preliminary period, which includes the preparation of a feasibility study and design estimates, the conclusion of an agreement for the financing of projects and the selection of contractors, the completion of modernization of Kazakhstan refineries was postponed from 2016 to the end of this year. At the moment, the work is carried out on time without any violations.
