Kazakhstan, Finland discuss development of cooperation in green technology sphere
"The presentation of the newly created Kazakh-Finnish center for the transfer of green technologies "QazFinnTec" held in the Finnish capital became a key event in the bilateral relations these days. The center, created by private Finnish companies with the active assistance of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Helsinki in the framework of the economic diplomacy, aims to facilitate the implementation of projects in Kazakhstan with the use of advanced Finnish technologies in such areas as the use of renewable energy sources, recycling of household waste into biogas, sewage treatment and others", the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.
In his welcoming speech at the presentation, R. Vassilenko noted the timeliness of the launch of "QazFinnTec" in the light of the importance of securing the legacy of EXPO-2017, as well as the rapprochement of fast-growing Asian markets with high-tech Europe. The Kazakh diplomat emphasized the urgency of this initiative in the light of Kazakhstan's policy of political, economic and social modernization in accordance with the programs of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev whose priorities reflect the conceptual vision of the strategic tasks of the state development for the future up to 2050 and country's role in ensuring the global sustainable development.
"The activity of the new center supported by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan and the administration of the "Astana" International Financial Center (AIFC) will also contribute to strengthening Kazakhstan's role as the leading industrial, innovative, technological, financial and logistics hub in Central Asia", he assured.
In turn, State Secretary for Foreign Economic Affairs of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland Markku Keinanen highly appreciated the prospects for the cooperation within the framework of the established Center. He stressed that the development strategy of Kazakhstan is of great importance in the context of the development of whole Central Asia. In the opinion of the distinguished guest, Finland's participation in the exhibition EXPO-2017, which included the organization of visits by President Sauli Niinisto and a number of sectoral Ministers of Finland, contributed to the filling of bilateral relations with the new quality content, the growing interest of Finnish and international business to Kazakhstan, niches for cooperation.
"Today, on the basis of the AIFC, the International Center for the Transfer of Green Technologies, the International Park of IT Startups, there are unique opportunities for mutually complementary and mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries", M. Keinanen concluded.
We also add that an official event was also held in Helsinki in honor of the upcoming Independence Day of Kazakhstan, in the framework of which, in the light of "Rukhani Zhangyru" program, a concert of the "Forte Trio" Orchestra of Classical Music was organized, receiving the most enthusiastic reception of a grateful audience.
