Decree on transition to Latin among most important events in Kazakhstan’s history - Governor of SK
"The decree on the transition of the Kazakh alphabet from the Cyrillic script to the Latin script, adopted by the Head of State, can be called one of the most important events that occurred in the Republic of Kazakhstan. A similar alphabet is used by 90 percent of states around the World. Among them there must be Kazakhstan. We have not developed a new application of the Latin alphabet. We have the experience of the last century. So, our grandfathers used these records in 1929-1940. Now our President, once modernized the transition to this alphabet, has approved a new version of the Latin alphabet", the Governor of the region said.
At the same time, Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that there will be no obstacles to the implementation of the new alphabet.
"We went through the ancient Turkic, Arabic, Latin script. Currently, modern youth is well mastering the English alphabet. Therefore, we are able to master this. We will not have any problems, we will learn. This step can be considered a new step in modernizing the public conscience of our country. We express our gratitude to the Head of State for the initiative in the transition to the Latin alphabet", the Governor concluded.
