It’s planned to launch new regasification station in Astana in late 2018
Global Gas Group, the flagship in the issue of gasification of the capital, announces the launch of a new stage of the Astana LNG 2020 project, implemented with the help of LNG technology. This is the so-called "non-trumpet" gasification method - an alternative to the traditional trunk gas pipeline, which will allow the city gas pipeline system to be promptly formed and prepare the city for the arrival of the "big pipe".
"The strategic goal of the project is to create a gas supply infrastructure based on LNG technology and to ensure uninterrupted supply of natural gas to consumers. Private households, utilities and other consumers will be able to optimize the cost of heating, hot water and food preparation", Oleg Goncharov, a founder and ideologist of the Astana LNG 2020 project, said.
In the first half of October, 2017, the beginning of the design of the second regasification station for liquefied natural gas Telman. The station will be located in the southern part of Astana, near Nursultan Nazarbayev airport. The commissioning and launch of the new station is planned by the end of 2018.
"The Telman regasification complex will be significantly different from our first Turan station. The main and strategically important difference is the possibility of storing LNG stocks, which allows providing consumers with ecological fuel for 10 days", Panayet Saulidi, a director of Global Gas Regazification, said.
In general, within the framework of the project for the construction of the complex, it is also planned to build a second stage of a gas distribution pipeline with a total length of 15 km.
