K.Bozumbayev: Situation with gasoline in country to be stabilized by end of week

17 October, 2017 10:56
In October, more than 100,000 tons of AI-92 gasoline will be imported from the Russian Federation, of which 34,000 tons have already been imported. This was announced by Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev during a meeting in the Government.

"A confirmation has been received for the shipment of more than 100 thousand tons of AI-92 from oil refineries of the Russian Federation, of which about 50 thousand tons will be shipped by the end of this week. The remaining volumes will arrive before the end of the month. Since the beginning of the month, for yesterday evening, 34, 6 thousand tons of gasoline AI-92 have been imported. Of these, only over the weekend, more than 10,000 tons were imported", K. Bozumbayev said.

The Minister noted that due to the measures taken, the total remnants of AI-92 in Kazakhstan as of October 16 amounted to 127 thousand tons, which is 10 thousand tons higher than a few days earlier. These balances allow to guarantee fuel supply to all regions of the country during 13 days.

"To date, there are no regions that limit the implementation of AI-92, primarily on large networks. On two networks, realization on coupons still remains, but I think that these networks will go on free sale within the next few days", K. Bozumbayev noted.

In addition, the Minister said, the Ministry sent a commission to audit the state of work to complete the modernization of oil refineries.

"All works at the Pavlodar refinery is carried out according to the schedule. The plant is scheduled to be launched on 26 October. Until the end of the month the plant plans to process 65,000 tons of oil and shipped 2,500 tons of AI-92 gasoline per day. So, this week we are going to finally stabilize the situation. Until the end of the week, another 50,000 tons will be imported, and next week the situation will be fully normalized", the Minister said.

He also noted that already in November the Ministry of Energy will consider opportunities to reduce fuel prices.

"As for the price policy, it is clear that the share of Russian gasoline is increasing, but in November we will consider the issue of cost reduction separately", the Minister concluded.
