Children's inclusive ground was opened in the framework of "Rukhani zhangyru"
As the Mayor’s Office of Almaty informed, funds for the equipment of the children's complex and its installation were collected during a charity auction in December 2016, owing to the private sponsors of the city and the “Dara” Fund.
"Within our capacity, we will continue to open such grounds that will be accessible to all children, both in Almaty and in other cities. We want to work with our domestic equipment suppliers for such complexes, so I think that there will be more inclusive free barrier-free playing grounds in Almaty in the future", director of the “Dara” Foundation in Almaty Ainash Kasenova commented.
In the barrier-free play ground of 480 square meters there is a number of developing elements: a gaming complex with slides and wide ramps, a child adapted roundabout and sandbox, musical components, fitness simulators, etc. Simulators and game elements allow you to train the vestibular and hearing aids, improve coordination of movement and tactile sensations. The information panels show children the tactile Braille font, sign language and PEKS cards, allow children from childhood to accept and understand the different ways of communicating their peers and their possible needs.
According to the Mayor’s Office, about 20 million tenge was spent on this complex.
It should be noted that in the megalopolis, within the framework of the social project "Sport in my Yard," 75 sports grounds have been modernized, which provide leisure time for 5,500 children and adolescents, and 28 sports facilities for the doing workout. In each district of the city this winter there will be free ice rinks for mass skating.
According to the Education Department, today there are 4 psycho-medical-pedagogical consultations (PMPC) and 7 offices of psychological-pedagogical correction (OPPC) in Almaty. Until the end of the year, it is planned to open PMPC and OPPC in the Nauryzbay district. In May this year, the Resource Center for Vocational Training and Social Adaptation of Citizens with Special Needs was opened on the basis of the Almaty College of Technology and Floristics. For 9 months of the current year, 4576 children were examined in PMPC, 984 children received help through OPPC.
