K.Tokayev got acquainted with book exhibitions of National Academic Library
Within the framework of EXPO-2017, the library holds various book exhibitions.
K. Tokayev also visited the National Center for Rare Books and Manuscripts. There the exhibition "Printing in the Great Silk Road" has been recently opened.
The exhibition features 100 manuscripts and rare editions from the treasures of the National Library of the country, which are stored in the "Kundy Tartu" (inestimable blessing) hall.
The Speaker of the Senate of Kazakhstan’s Parliament stressed that the National Academic Library and Archive are the value of our state, therefore the leadership of the country will pay great attention to the library and its employees.
"Of course, this is a very important part of the government work. The President pays special attention to the archival business and, in general, to the library business in our country. We saw the unique exhibits. Indeed, many of them have no alternative. As for the work itself, it is very important. Therefore, both the Parliament and the Government will pay great attention to helping workers. I would like to wish successes to these workers, devotees of their work", K. Tokayev told the journalists.
We note that among the exhibits there are also a book by Jean-Pierre Dreux "Marco Polo and the Silk Road", the encyclopedic edition "The Great Silk Road on the Territory of Kazakhstan", very rare and valuable Chinese manuscripts printed on jade plates and silk.
