Karaganda to build plant for production of explosives

Investors from China plan to build a plant for the production of explosives in Karaganda region, Galymzhan Zhumasultanov, a head of the Industry and Innovation Development Department of Karaganda region, said.

In Karaganda region in the territory of SEZ "Saryarka" it is planned to build a plant for the production of explosives. Investors from the Chinese province of Yunyang showed interest in the region. The decision on the construction was announced during the Kazakh-Chinese business forum in Astana.

According to Galymzhan Zhumasultanov, a joint company has already been established.

"The project for the construction of a plant for the production of explosives comes to us at the free economic zone "Saryarka". This is about 16 billion tenge of investment. More than 200 jobs will be created. The stage of negotiations has passed. Now procedural work begins on preparation and execution of documentation", he said.

According to him, athe land has been lready selected.

"To date, we are waiting for confirmation from the Investment Committee of the Ministry for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan that the company received the status of a participant in the SEZ. After this, a land plot will be drawn up and investors will develop project documentation", the head of the department added.

Currently, 11 companies have the status of a participant in the special economic zone "Saryarka". Five factories have been launched on its territory. Four projects are under implementation and two more are planned.

By the way, during the period of the SEZ "Saryarka" functioning, the volume of investment was 22.9 billion tenge. For the first half of 2017, the operating enterprises produced goods at 6.1 billion tenge.
