Additional hospital for war veterans to be opened in Almaty: Ministry of Health

In 2014, it is planned to open additional hospital for veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the war in Afghanistan, the press service of the Ministry of Health reports.

The Healthcare Ministry will open a hospital for war veterans for 90 beds at the interior ministry's hospital in Almaty.

The veterans will receive occupational therapy, including hydrotherapy and mud treatment, electrotherapy and light treatment, balneotherapy and remedial gymnastics. 

Currently, war veterans are treated at two special hospitals - one in Almaty for 90 beds and the other - in Astana for 80 beds; there are special hospital units for servicing war veterans in 8 regional centers (325 beds); special wards for war veterans exist in many district, municipal, regional and other large hospitals. In the country's seven regions there are special outpatient hospitals for them.
