Expanding of Parliament and Government’s powers will help to achieve goals of Modernization 3.0
The Senate Committee on Finance and Budget held a lively and interesting discussion of the proposed amendments to the Basic Law of the country. During the discussion the members of the Committee fully supported the constitutional reform, as well as the suggestions of the members of the Parliament expressed at the joint meeting of the Chambers of the Parliament.
"The expansion of powers of the Parliament and the Government will provide the most effective attainment of the objectives of the third modernization of the economy, which was announced in the Address of the Head of State "Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: global competitiveness". The amendments proposed by the constitutional reform, of course, will increase the responsibility and independence of the Government, giving it an opportunity to focus directly on the management of the economy, which also implies a better implementation of the tasks laid down in the budget", Akhmetov said.
According to the senator, strengthening of the role of Parliament as the legislative branch of the government will more effectively monitor the implementation of decisions taken by the authorities and will strengthen the possibility of a timely response to topical issues of concern to the population.
