N.Nigmatullin: Kazakhstan, Belarus formed solid legal base of coop

Chairman of the Majilis Nurlan Nigmatulin received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan Anatoly Nichkasov.

The Majilis reported that the meeting discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue.

Majilis speaker stressed the role of the leaders of Kazakhstan and Belarus in strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides shared views on the treatment of Nursultan Nazarbayev on the reauthorization in Kazakhstan.

N. Nigmatulin emphasized the commitment of the President to democratic course and the strengthening the responsibility of state agencies.

In turn, A. Nichkasov stressed the President's initiatives show that the country is ready for a democratic transition to a new system of government.

"Belarus monitors the implementation of existing programs in Kazakhstan. The reforms, carried out by Nursultan Nazarbayev serve as an example of effective modern strategy. We believe the work done by the President of Kazakhstan contributes to the development of the world and the region", - said A. Nichkasov.

The Belarusian diplomat thanked our country for its support of Belarus' accession to the observers in the SCO and the CICA.

The interlocutors noted the productive cooperation between the two countries over 25 years of diplomatic relations.

According to N. Nigmatulin, a solid legal framework of interaction was formed. It has more than 70 bilateral documents signed at different levels. It was also noted that the positions of Kazakhstan and Belarus basically coincide in regional and international policy. Kazakhstan is among the three main trade partners of Belarus in the CIS.

In order to increase trade between the countries, it is important not only to use the existing potential of the two states, but also new opportunities of the EAEU.

N. Nigmatulin expressed confidence that Kazakhstan and Belarus will cooperate closely within the framework of Kazakhstan's non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.

Speaking about the development of relations between Kazakhstan and Belarusian parliamentarians, the sides noted the importance of inter-parliamentary groups for cooperation and contacts between specialized committees.
