K. Tokayev summed up results of senators’ visits to regions

Senate Chairman Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has summed up the results of the parliamentary visits to regions. The senators held more than two hundred meetings, including in the most remote regions of the country.

At a meeting of the Bureau of the Senate the Speaker said that the meetings with the voters were fruitful, the events were widely covered in the mass media.

Paying attention of the members of the Bureau to the work in 2017, the head of the Senate noted that the Parliament will have to implement the important social and political initiative and hold a series of large-scale events. They include bills aimed at amending the constitutional laws, changes in legislation governing such important areas as taxation and customs, the use of subsoil plots, development of local self-government. In August this year a regular meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and the Conference Pugwash movement will be held.

The Bureau members agreed on the agenda of the session of the Senate, which will take place on January 26, the press service of the Chamber reported.

The senators will consider the bill "On forensic activities" and the accompanying document in the first reading. The MPs will also discuss the draft law on pastures and amendments to the legislation on the use of pastures (second reading).

The Committee for social and cultural development and science is defined as a head on elaboration of the draft law on ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on the establishment of the Central Asian regional glaciological center in Kazakhstan.
