President of Kazakhstan and Iran agreed to simplified visa regime

The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Iran have agreed to begin the work on visa facilitation and stimulation of tourism development. This was stated by President Nursultan Nazarbayev at the press conference in Akorda on the occasion of the visit of President of Iran Hassan Rouhani.

"The establishment of effective cooperation in the field of mining and steel industry. So, in Karaganda region the work on the development of copper deposits together with Iranian companies has started. The Iranian side expressed interest in conducting the geological research. The Kazakh President has noted the need to start the concrete actions on simplification of visa regime, as well as encourage the development of tourism.

Also, according to the President, the leaders have exchanged views on the topical international and regional issues.

"We agreed to combine our efforts to combat such threats as the spread of Islamophobia, binding our religion with terrorism and jihadism. We also agreed to establish close cooperation in the fight of a dangerous phenomenon - the international terrorism, extremism and other forms of crime", the Kazakh President has said.

The Heads of States have agreed to strengthen political cooperation between two countries within the international organizations such as the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Asian Council and the SCO, as well as Iran's desire to cooperate in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.

"For our part we are ready to support this aspiration. For all the issues discussed the mutual understanding was reached. All this shows that our views and positions are similar, and we have a mutual interest", N. Nazarbayev has added.

In general, the countries have great opportunities to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.
