Agriculture development in Kostanay region
The Kostanay region has the status of the main granaries of the country for decades. But at the same time , following the instructions of the President, it is actively developing the other sectors of agriculture.
"Over the last 10 years 321 billion tenge, including 140 billion tenge in the form of subsidies, have been invested in the agrarian sector. The gross product of agriculture from 2008 to 2013 increased from 84 billion to 251 billion tenge , compared to 2003 it increased by 3 times ," Deputy Mayor Kostanai region Bazyl Zhakupov said .
Local farmers are going to supply the country with bread and they have also begun to develop livestock . Seven feedlots and 13 breeding farms were open in the region . Another 36 enterprises are engaged in the processing of meat.
"We expect that it will come to full capacity in terms of processing meat by the end of this year," director of the meat processing plant Bauyrzhan Kuschugulov said .
We use the modern technology, such as the drip irrigation system in the fruit and vegetable fields. The system usage allows us to increase productivity and reduce production costs.
This year, more than 13,500 hectares of land is planted with fruits and vegetables, it is 215 hectares more than in 2012 . By 2016, the Kostanay region intends to produce 2,200 tons of meat for export.
