President of Kazakhstan to take part in conference on establishment of nuclear-free world in Astana

In late August this year Astana will host an international conference with the participation of President N. Nazarbayev. The conference will discuss the significance of the manifesto "The World. The XXI Century" and questions about the creation of the nuclear-free world, Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has said during the plenary session of the upper chamber of the Kazakh Parliament.

"The historical significance of the manifesto and the issues on the establishment of the nuclear-free world will be thoroughly discussed at the international conference which will be organized by the Senate jointly with the Union of the Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament. The conference with the participation of the Head of State will be held on August 29 in Astana", K. Tokayev has said at the plenary session of the Senate.

He has added that the conference is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the closure of the Semipalatinsk test site. The international forum will be attended by all MPs of the Parliament.
