“Historical Choice. Beginning” exhibition to be held in Astana
On December 1991, the Kazakhstani people had made a historical choice, by selecting Nursultan Nazarbayev as the President of the country. Following the establishment of new holiday in 2012, the Museum of First President had organized exhibition “Historical Choice.”
The exhibition was dedicated to the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was celebrated for the first time on December 1, 2012. This day characterizes the most important period of the state identity of the Kazakh people.
At the exposition was presented the unique collection of the materials from the funds of the Private archive of Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev, enlighting the history of the first nationwide presidential election of 1991. The most valuable among those materials were manuscripts, notes in the working notebooks, diaries, run-downs of his speeches. The official documents, photo and video materials added the exposition. In the special hall the visitors of the exhibition had chance to see video film about that period.
The Exhibition “Historical Choice. Beginning” from the personal archives of the Kazakh President which is being held at Domic hall of the Museum of First President of Kazakhstan, echoes school, youth life and the stages of the Komsomol, party and state career of Nursultan Nazarbayev.
A unique collection of various documents from the personal archive of the Head of State makes you remember that Nursultan Nazarbayev has run the gamut of life from metallurgist to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Supreme Council and the First President of independent Kazakhstan.
It should be noted, in addition to the main exhibition, visitors can view the documentary video footage, themed videos on events of December 1991, and the whole establishment and development of the institute of presidency in Kazakhstan.
